There are always twelve houses in each chart. You have a second house and that’s the house we’re looking at today.

Type of House

The second house is a succedent house which means it supports the angular house that it comes after and to which it is adjacent. In this case that is the 1st house or Ascendant you in others words you.

Hemispheres

The second house is found below the Ascendant Descendant axis, or the horizon, in the Northern hemisphere and this suggests it is more of a private house. The second house is in the Eastern hemisphere, to the left of the Midheaven IC line, which suggests it is concerned with “self.”

Quadrant

The second house is within the first quadrant, which is the private / self-quadrant.

Triple Division

The second house is in the first triple division which means that it is concerned with issues of “Me.“

As always, there are several themes related to the second house. The impact and importance of these house themes, or affinities, will be modified by the full second house complex in which you will consider:

The second house also speaks to your spending habits.

Who you give money to, including charitable donations, giving or financial support that you offer to others is shown in your second house.
