Teaching Astrology
You may know that I’ve been teaching astrology for many years. I started at my dining room table way back in the 80s and have kept on teaching since then. From 2003 to 2023 I taught weekly private classes in my home, in public classes in coffee shops and more recently over Zoom. I was also active in my local astrology groups as President and Newsletter Editor for over a decade. I presented lectures at astrology conferences here in Canada and in the US.
I even offered an annual Summer Astrology Event with my friend Toby for six years (psst… that may be coming back, but we’ll see). I also created a full astrology weekend event in Kelowna with Norma. I created the Starzology YouTube channel and was busily focused with that for over three years. There was always something astro-themed going on. Mars in Virgo, what can I say?
Class Notes
In 2022, I compiled all my individually created, drawn and written class notes into a book The Aspiring Astrologer: 52 Self-paced Astrology Lessons available on Amazon. This turned into a hefty book. I have now discovered that it is not available worldwide as I had been let to believe. Anyway…
In 2023, I launched the Starzology Astrology Podcast, which began as a once-a-week program to start with. It quickly morphed into a twice weekly episodes (and minisodes – little episodes) with my friend and astrologer Arwynne. My podcast continues to be lots of fun. It’s a bit like my soapbox really.
Online Course Development
Here’s the good news. During 2024, I am creating an astrology course that answers the most common question I receive and which I know many of you are struggling with namely. “Where to start with chart reading?”
I get students who have been doing astrology for ten years and need help. I get students who want to hone into what is important and learn to weigh the factors in a chart. I get students who have already been through other courses with other teachers and prestigious international institutions who still need help.
Plenty of astrologers with twenty years of experience and vast libraries of astrology books have come through my courses to get the focus that is required when reading a chart. I was being overwhelmed with One-on-one classes as I could only do so many a week. There had to be a better way. This got me thinking…
Who This Course is For
This course is for people who do know a little astrology. I anticipate that you have at least a grasp of the chart at a basic level and know the glyphs. I think you are at the student level in the 5 Levels of Astrologer and you can check that out.
I do not go over every nook and cranny of astrology. Most of my students have a working knowledge of charts, but they want to polish their readings. You may have all the astrology cookbooks, and I hope you do, but the synthesis of chart reading is the critical component often missing.
When is this Online Course Going to be Available?
This course will be available by… Gulp… Okay, I am working on it tirelessly and will get it out asap. I have given myself the provisional date. Why not? It’s a great day for astrology, but the reality may mean it will be later. No matter how long it takes, it will launch this year. I know one great contemporary astrologer who took a whole year to get his course out. Clearly it takes time.
Where is this Online Course
My online course is hosted by Teachable the premium online course host for exceptional customer satisfaction. Teachable is based in the USA.
As you can imagine, I am climbing up a monsterly steep learning curve to navigate all the details that makes this the best platform for hosting my online course.
It’s one thing to know the astrology, it’s another to get it sorted, repackaged and uploaded so it fits seamlessly on their platform.
Beta Testers
I will be requiring beta testers before the course goes live. Beta testers are keen students who pay a nominal fee for the incomplete course. They provide detailed feedback on all aspects of the learning experience. Thus, the payment process is a part of this.
Beta Tester Expectations
Beta testers are required to provide a review, blog, promote and offer feedback about the course after they have worked through it. Or as they are working through it if required. I am anticipating constructive criticism and user experience feedback and a testimonial from beta testers.
Beta testers remain students of the course forever, even when all the bells and whistles are added and the price goes up. If you would like to be considered as a beta tester for my upcoming online course, please add your name to this list.
Pre-Launch Waitlist
The waitlist is for astrologers who wish to take the course at the deeply discounted never-to-be repeated low launch price. Waitlisted people will get information about the ongoing development of the course and may be polled for ideas about what I’ll be adding, or not. I don’t have the full details of the waitlist procedures yet. If you wish to get on the waitlist for this course then please click here to join the waitlist.
